Google Chrome has another very good entrance to market, as the best Browser against it competitors. At the CanSecWest security conference (Vancouver, Canada) there was a Pwn2Own contest which aims to unveil browser security problems and flaws. It is a kind of White Hat Hackers which tested Google Chrome against, Safari on Mac OS X, IE8 and Firefox. The only bwoser which could not be hacked was not surprsingly Google Chrome which also was the winner of the
From other tests around the world, this show also revealed how fast, you can hack almost any browser. For the MAC OSX it took 2 minutes, (seen in 10 seconds other places) and also Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Safari and Opera has been hacked in many competitions.
One of the well-known white hat hackers is Nils, which has a long reputation as king in these matters. Nils actually won 5.000 dollars for his exploit against Microsofts new version of Internet Explorer 8, by defying Microsoft’s latest built-in protection technology, the so called DEP (Known as Data Execution Prevention) and especially the ASLR (Known as Address Space Layout Randomization).
Niels also won 5.000 doallars extra by quickly taking down Apple’s Safari browser and there after he took Mozilla Firefox, which gained gis prices to 15.000 dollars. Not bad for a few hours of hacking. After these demonstrations the Microsoft Security Response Center notified on Thursday that it had reproduced and validated the IE8 exploit that Nils had uncovered. Currently we have not seen anything from Mozilla and Safari.
For the Open Source CMS user it has some great facilities in speed, but currently there is a lack of plugins for the Cocial Media and Open Source CMS market. The well-known plugins for Microsoft IE and Mozilla Firefox is currently under migration to Google Chrome, and after this we consider Google Chrome to be the safest browser at the moment, and i am sure that Google will do anything to remain satisfied to have the only uncrackable browser on the market.
